WASHINGTON -- Former District of Columbia Mayor and current Councilmember Marion Barry (D-Ward 8) has never been shy about tweeting what's on his mind. The Redskins, naturally, have been a major topic of conversation, especially has the team made the playoffs for the first time since Barry was mayor of the nation's capital.

Last year, the "Paul Revere" of Redskins fans famously derided team owner Dan Snyder after a disappointing football season: "DAN SNYDER SUCKS."

"Dan Snyder is in Maryland, the team is in Maryland, and we get nothing," the so-called "Mayor for Life" later told The Washington Post. "They get to use our name."

His complaints about the Redskins' Maryland home base continued on a recent "uncomfortable" local sports radio interview, according to Washington City Paper.

In November 2011, Barry tweeted a bold prediction when the Redskins were in a losing season: "I believe in the power of God--And just like Jesus, the Redskins are coming back!"

In August 2012, Barry predicted that the Redskins would make the playoffs.

And they certainly returned -- eventually -- and made the playoffs.

During Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, one of Barry's followers tweeted that the councilmember had some "psychic intuition" about the Redskins, who ended up falling to Seattle.

Here's what else Barry was tweeting during the Redskins-Seahawks wildcard game on Sunday at FedExField in Landover, Md.:
