On Monday, Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) gave his first Senate floor speech since suffering a stroke in January 2012, speaking in support of the Employee Non-Discrimination Act.
"I have been silent for the past two years due to a stroke," Kirk said. "I've risen to speak because I believe so passionately in... ENDA."

Kirk, who returned to the Senate in January 2013, was the second Republican senator to back same-sex marriage, after his colleague Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) embraced marriage equality in March.
