Mark Schoening's Information Overloads Will Give You A "Head Rush" (PHOTOS)

WARNING: Will Give You A Head Rush

Mark Schoening's paintings react to the age of information overload with an understandable reaction: a giant head rush. Sometimes the flood of advertisements, Twitter updates and incoming texts does make our heads feel like they're going to explode. The Minnesota-born artist figured that since most of us can't avoid the flood he might as well take inspiration from it.

The "Head Rush" collection looks like a beautiful Laser tag fight. Neon bits and bites float in an internet-ish ether, showing the beauty in the chaos. Schoening's works don't condemn the technological age but celebrate the bizarreness of it all. In a previous interview with HuffPost Schoening said, "With the curiosity of a five-year-old and the precision of a surgeon, I attempt to combine a series of hand made and digitally made marks over and over again letting the painting process start and stop within layers of resin."

His works depend on the viewer's ability to process a zillion things at once as product of the information age. In Schoening's words: "The way we look at, perceive, and process ideas has changed, and because of that, because of what the viewer brings to the experience, these painting could not have been created in any other time."
