Mark Ysasaga Missing: Texas Teen's Mom Anxious For Answers In Mysterious Disappearance

Texas Teen's Mom Anxious For Answers To Son's Mysterious Disappearance

Mark Ysasaga's mother is clinging to the hope that her 15-year-old son will return unharmed.

"I want everybody to help me bring my baby back. That's all I want. I want my son back," Anna Ysasaga-Cuevas told The Huffington Post.

The missing boy was last seen on June 13, when he left a friend's house in Lubbock, Tx., a city located about 120 miles south of Amarillo. The teen has not been seen since and calls to his cellphone go directly to voicemail.

"It's very out of character for him to be out of touch," Ysasaga-Cuevas said. "He has always kept in contact with me. If he could not get a hold of me for some reason he would call my father or sister."

Ysasaga-Cuevas said she logged into her son's Facebook and found nothing indicating that he was planning to run away. She also said his friends claim they are clueless about his whereabouts.

"I've really gone through everything in my mind -- if somebody kidnapped him or did something to him," his mother said as she fought back tears. "I'm just hoping that he's going to walk through the door."

Lubbock police Sgt. Jeanelle Taveau said that while authorities are actively investigating the case, they have little to go on.

"We have no concrete facts to point in one direction or another if he is missing endangered or a runaway," Taveau told HuffPost. The sergeant added, "We're following every lead we get."

Ysasaga-Cuevas said she does not think her son ran away and is worried someone may be preventing him from coming home.

"He had no reason to take off," she said. "He's very healthy [and] well behaved. We're a very close family."

The teen's family has blanketed the surrounding towns with missing person posters and say they will continue to search until he is found.

"We are trying to stay calm and are hoping and praying he is safe," Ysasaga-Cuevas said.

Mark Ysasaga is 5'7" and weighs approximately 147 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white polo shirt, red basketball shorts with a black stripe down the side, and white Nike Air Force shoes.
