Do good moms make bad wives?

That's the charged question blogger Jackie Morgan MacDougall asked Tuesday in a HuffPost Divorce blog on the need for parents to prioritize their marriages to stave off divorce.

"I'm not saying to neglect the kids, but they won't exactly suffer by seeing their parents put each other at the top of the list, instead serving as relationship role models," MacDougall wrote.

MacDougall is hardly the first person to make the case for putting your spouse before your kids. Author and mother-of-four Ayelet Waldman famously elicited boos from an "Oprah" show audience for admitting that she loved her husband more than her own kids.

We wanted to know what our readers thought, so with MacDougall's piece in mind, we posed this question to our Facebook and Twitter communities: Is putting your children first bad for a marriage?
