Marriage Proposal At The Dance Theatre Of Harlem Moves Bride To Tears (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Something Very Special Is About To Happen...

New Yorker Aaron Miller proposed to his girlfriend, Sarah Ellson, (not their real names), in early April at the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Last week, photographer Sofia Negron, who shot the proposal, shared photos of the emotional day with HuffPost Weddings. Below, Negron shares the story of Aaron's proposal.

Sarah loves the ballet, especially the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Late April was the Dance Theatre's first season after a nine-year hiatus. Aaron told Sarah [that they were attending] a press event to kick off the New York season, and they were invited because they were supporters. When they showed up, Sarah found a dance studio covered in rose petals. Two advanced students, Jamal and Lacy from the professional training program, performed a pas de deux, The Greatest, (music by Whitney Houston, "Greatest Love of All"), which was originally choreographed for founder Arthur Mitchell. Following the performance, students from the Cabriole level brought out flowers and cupcakes with the words "Will You Marry Me." To top it all off, Aaron donated a scholarship, in Sarah's name, for one student to train this summer at the Detroit summer intensive.

Take a look at photos from the gorgeous proposal in the slideshow below.
