Mars One Finalist: If I'm Barred From Having Sex On Mars, 'I'm Okay With It'

He's having some trouble "with girls here on earth" though...

For Mars One finalist Pietro Aliprandi, choosing between a long space voyage and an active sex life is pretty straightforward.

"The mission comes first," the 25-year-old Italian told HuffPost Live host Josh Zepps on Wednesday, when asked if he'd be willing to forgo sex to make the journey. Mars One officials have suggested that sex would be banned.

While Aliprandi said he had "heard nothing official" regarding a sex ban, he's not opposed to it: "If this will be the conditions, I'm okay with that," he said.

Mars One, which has been viewed with skepticism by some in the scientific community, aims to establish a permanent human colony on Mars in 2027. In the meantime, the looming mission hasn't been doing much to help Aliprandi's game.

"I had a partner but I left her a couple of months ago," Aliprandi said, citing the Mars trip as being "one of the reasons why we broke up."

"I have some troubles with girls here on Earth," he confessed.
