Former Mars Volta Members Recruit Flea To Form Supergroup Antemasque

Mars Volta And Red Hot Chili Peppers Members Form Supergroup

At the end of 2012, prog-rock conquistadors The Mars Volta ended as a band, fragmenting the only two full-time runners, Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, into separate projects, Bosnian Rainbows and Zavalaz. However, the two have buried the hatchet and formed a new project titled Antemasque, featuring Dave Elitch on drums (who filled in for The Mars Volta on tour) and, shocker, Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea.

We don't know much else about the group (other than that the result will kick serious ass). Hear the band's first single, "4AM," below, and check out a few of the band's studio videos.
