Christopher Evan Welch passed away in December 2013, four months before the world saw him in "Silicon Valley," the HBO comedy that has garnered serious critical acclaim. Welch's performance as quirky tech tycoon Peter Gregory is considered to be his breakout role.
In a HuffPost Live conversation Wednesday, "Silicon Valley" co-star Martin Starr talked about the show's upcoming second season and how hard it has been to move on without Welch, who died at 48 of lung cancer, which he had been battling for three years.
"In my personal opinion, Christopher Evan Welch was the most incredible part of the show. So natural, and the way that comedy came out of him was effortless through that character," Starr told host Alyona Minkovski. "It really was just this detailed portrayal that he gave that just ... comedy ensued. He allowed comedy to come from a real place with that character and really, I think, led the whole show in that way. For me, I think it's difficult to imagine the show without him."
The next season of "Silicon Valley" premieres in spring 2015.
