Mary Kennedy Body Moved Away From Kennedy Family Cemetery Plot

Mary Kennedy's Body Exhumed

Just a day after details from an official autopsy report provided hints Mary Kennedy may have tried to prevent her suicide, The Daily News reports Mary's body has been dug up and transferred away from the Kennedy family's burial plot at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Massachusetts.

The News reports her body was exhumed last week and moved 700 feet away from where she had been originally buried near Eunice and Sargent Shriver, the aunt and uncle of Mary's estranged husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.-- who wanted to move his former wife to a less crowded area of the cemetery-- is reportedly seeking to purchase 50 more plots in the cemetery, near where Mary is now buried.

News of the relocation comes amidst reports of bitter feuding between Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and her siblings, primarily over where her body should be buried, and the release of an affidavit in the couple's divorce which her siblings decried as a "brutal psychological weapon."

The Richardson family further criticized the release of the document and said, "We hoped Mary could rest in peace."

Mary Kennedy died from an apparent suicide in May by hanging herself in a barn at the family's Bedford, New York home.

Last week, an autopsy report revealed there were three kinds of antidepressants, but no alcohol in her system at the time of her hanging.
