WATCH: Famous Designer On How To Make A Book

Massimo Vignelli is a world-famous designer of furniture, graphics (including the New York subway signage and the American Airlines logo) and, of course, books.

Creative Review reports that the Italian maestro has been recorded discussing how to make a book according to a strict grid, as part of a new campaign for Mohawk Papers. The discussion was then turned into a video by Pentagram.

As befits an 82-year-old designer, he uses a pencil instead of a computer, but the design principles he outlines are just as relevant today.
