'Masters Of Sex' Cast Slams 'Game Of Thrones' Sex Scenes

There's a reason the show is called "Masters of Sex."

The cast of Showtime's hit drama assembled for the TV Academy panel Tuesday and they weren't afraid to call out one show in particular for its gratuitous sex scenes. "Our show is about sex and intimacy whereas other shows are about other things, maybe dragons," said Lizzy Caplan, who plays Virginia Johnson on "Masters of Sex." "No disrespect at all, but it does feel at times that it’s like, time out dragons, let's watch these people get it on with each other."

Caplan noted that while there's plenty of sex on her show, it always serves the story and it never degrades women. "Our show is led by women, so they understand," Caplan said referring to executive producers Michelle Ashford and Sarah Timberland.

Caplan's male co-star Michael Sheen, who plays Dr. William Masters, also chimed in on the theme of sex and equality. "I don't think it's a pro-woman show," he said. "It's a pro-human being show ... All the characters are equal, and it's striking how [in] many shows that's not the case."
