Gay Marriage Is 'Contrary To Natural Created Order Of God Almighty,' Pundit Claims

Over three months have passed since the U.S. Supreme Court's rulings on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and Prop 8, but that hasn't stopped a prominent anti-gay pundit from continuing to condemn the decisions during various public appearances.

As Right Wing Watch first reported, the Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver made a point of slamming marriage equality when he appeared at the "Pastors For Virginia" conference last month.

In video footage of his appearance, Staver says, "I say to Justice Kennedy and the other four justices -- and I say this strongly as an attorney who is also an officer of the court -- how dare they say that those who believe in marriage are bigots and haters of humanity!"

The Supreme Court's DOMA decision, he adds, was not reflective of "natural law, biblical law or common sense; it is contrary to the natural created order of God almighty."

Of course, Staver has made no secret of his stance on the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community in the past. Earlier this month, he called the presentation of historical LGBT figures in schools a form of "sexual assault on our children," called on parents to "stand up and demand that public schools focus on the essentials of learning and not become vehicles of a sexualized agenda.”
