With the anniversary of the president's proclaimed commitment to closing Guantanamo this week, New Security Action is releasing a new video highlighting Republican fearmongering related to Gitmo, featuring veteran and terrorist interrogator, Matthew Alexander and New Security Action's Tom Andrews.

Right now the prison at Guantanamo Bay is used as a recruiting tool by al Qaeda. According to the White House, the prison has been used by senior al Qaeda leadership in videos 32 times since 2001, and four times this year alone. Alexander and New Security Action's Tom Andrews poke holes in our opponents fearmongering and show how Gitmo makes us, and our troops, less safe.

This post originally appeared on New Security Action. New Security Action is a new organization dedicated to fighting for a progressive, smart national security policy. We are fighting to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay.
