Matthew Perry Almost Turned Down 'Friends' For A Show About Futuristic Baggage Handlers

Matthew Perry almost didn't play the one and only Chandler Bing.

While appearing on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" Tuesday night, the actor revealed he nearly couldn't take his iconic "Friends" role because he was attached to a pilot called "LAX 2194." According To Perry, the show followed baggage handlers working at Los Angeles International Airport in the year 2194 who sorted through aliens' luggage. (Actually.) Luckily, an executive at Fox watched the pilot and realized the show looked extremely horrible, leaving the star free to work on "Friends."
