Mayor Bloomberg Jumps On 9/11 Tribute Bike By American Chopper's Paul Teutul Jr. (VIDEO)

WATCH: Bloomberg Hops On 9/11 Tribute Chopper

Mayor Bloomberg hopped on a chopper built as a tribute to the new World Trade Center Wednesday.

The motorcycle was unveiled near the new World Trade Center by its maker, Paul Teutul Jr. of the Discovery Channel’s “American Chopper.” A second bike will be raffled off in January to benefit the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

"As I know you've all heard me say a million times before," Hizzoner said at the event (see video below), "there's nothing like strapping on your brain bucket, kickstarting your chopper, gripoping your ape hangers and riding high and tight with your bros. Back in 1969, when Easy Rider came out, there wasn't a guy my age who didn't consider chasing freedom on the open road! Still today, all kidding aside, the bike remains a symbol of the freedom we cherish as Americans and nobody makes bikes like the American Chopper family."

According to The New York Post, Teutul said, “I’ve built some incredible bikes to commemorate events, but few have the significance and meaning of this one.”
