Holtz-Eakin said the price of food was up as a result of high fuel prices and also ethanol subsidies which McCain opposes and Sen. Barack Obama supports. Holtz-Eakin and Pfotenhauer also discussed McCain's proposed Lexington Project which would award $300 million for an electric or hybrid car. They further outlined how John McCain's energy plan alleviates the economic challenges that American face as a result of higher energy costs and criticized Sen.
