WHO: Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett Packard, John Taylor, Mary and Robert Raymond Professor of Economics, Stanford University and Doug Holtz-Eakin, Senior Policy Adviser, McCain 2008
WHAT: Press conference call to discuss Sen. Barack Obama's tax plan.
WHEN: Thursday, August 14 at 3:15 p.m. EDT

SUMMARY
McCain surrogates criticized Sen. Barack Obama for his tax plan as outlined today in a Wall Street Journal editorial written by his two top economic advisers. Prof. John Taylor said that Obama plan to, as he claimed, raise taxes, would spell disaster for an already weak economy. Fiorina said that Obama's plan does not promote job growth and overall economic growth as it raises taxes on small businesses and capital gains. Fiorina also said that Obama's supposed shifts on his tax plans are further proof that he is inconsistent on the issues and only proposes a policy if it is politically expedient.
