McDonalds Bone Lawsuit: Burger Had Bone Fragment In It, Woman Claims

Woman Sues McDonalds Claiming She Found BONE Found In Her Burger

A woman in Chicago's north suburbs is suing fast-food giant McDonald's, alleging that she was served something she didn't order: a double-cheeseburger with bone.

Millicent Brown of Waukegan, Illinois is suing for more $50,000, plus the cost of the suit. She claims that after biting down onto a bone or bone fragment in her burger, she needed extensive dental surgery to repair her damaged teeth.

According to the suit, Brown needed "a root canal, tooth extraction, bone graft, flipper, implant tooth, post and crown" after the incident.

The suit names as defendants: the McDonald's Corporation; the specific McDonald's restaurant where the burger was served; the Wal-Mart Supercenter where that McDonald's is located; and OSI Industries, the company charged with processing the food.

In response, McDonald's said they are looking into the matter. From WGN-TV:

McDonald's spokeswoman Danya Proud cautioned against "jumping to conclusions," saying, "We take these matters seriously," and, "we are looking into these allegations."

The incident allegedly occurred at the McDonald's at the Fountain Square Store, 3900 Fountain Square, on July 8, 2008.
