Meat Loaf Endorses Romney At Ohio Rally: 'There Has Storm Clouds Come Over The United States'

Meat Loaf Endorses Romney

Reality-TV star and erstwhile hard rocker Meat Loaf threw his celebrity behind Mitt Romney on Thursday, appearing at a rally in the always-important state of Ohio.

"There has storm clouds come over the United States," Meat Loaf said, according to The Washington Post (that's a direct quote). "There is thunderstorms over Europe. There are hail storms – and I mean major hail storms – in the Middle East. There are storms brewing through China, through Asia, through everywhere, and there’s only one man that on the other night when President Barack Obama, God bless him, said to Mitt Romney, ‘The Cold War is over.’"

The musician went on to say that the Cold War was most definitely not over. He also attested to being a fan of Romney's running mate, Paul Ryan ("Paul Ryan has not pushed me off the cliff in a wheelchair").

Romney also appeared at the event in Defiance, Ohio, and sang "America the Beautiful" with Meat Loaf and other singers.

Elsewhere in entertainers and politics, George Clooney has remained an ardent Obama supporter and Clint Eastwood appeared in a Romney campaign ad. A summary of the celebrities who dipped their toes into the red and blue waters of democracy is available in our further coverage.
