If you are a Nepalese music lover, you definitely know Bipul Chhetri. Originally he is from India but he sings and writes Nepali songs. See the power of Nepali Music ☺

Nepali folk music has different melody and power. Bipul's touch is more magical. He sings Nepali folk music from the eastern Himalayas with a contemporary western touch. Sounds good?

Born Bipul in Kalimpong, Darjeeling, West Bengal, India, he was graduated in London. Bipul's voice and musical abilities were introduced to the world with his song 'Wildfire (Dadelo)'. It was recorded and uploaded on SoundCloud in February 2013 and soon became a sensation among Nepalese worldwide.

His debut album, Sketches of Darjeeling, was released in July 2014. LTCL Diploma holder in classical guitar, Bipul has now ventured into the contemporary folk and folk-rock genre. He is also the first and only Nepali language singer/songwriter to have been endorsed by Epiphone Guitars. He writes very beautiful songs.

He is all set for his next gig at the Melrose Ball Room in Astoria, New York on Saturday, 16th of July. Twenty percentages of the proceeds will go to Shikshya Foundation Nepal.

He is finally making his debut performance in New York City. This is the first time Bipul Chettri is touring in the USA "The Maya Tour' along with his The Travelling Band. Like a Wildfire - his melancholic voice with eastern harmonies and hilly earthy tone only takes you back home where there are mountains, innocence, and love.

You know Prabal Gurung, right? Who doesn't know this famous Nepali American fashion designer! Singapore-born Nepali fashion designer is rocking the world from the capital of the world, New York City. Gurung's designs have been worn by Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Marion Cotillard, Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lawrence, Demi Moore, Emma Watson, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kerry Washington, Jennifer Hudson, Kara Hayward, Diane Kruger, Elettra Wiedemann, January Jones, Kate Hudson, Scarlett Johansson, Selena Gomez, Poorna Jagannathan, Zoe Saldana, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra.

Prabal is not the only fashion designer, but also the social worker. He brand- ambassador for Shikshya Foundation Nepal.

In 2011, the Gurung family established the Shikshya Foundation Nepal. This foundation seeks to provide education to underprivileged children, challenging them to positively impact the country's future. The mission is to provide at least 300 underprivileged children with a sound education, addressing financial, social and emotional needs, within the next 10 years. There are currently over 60 children in the program. In 2011 Prabal was also named goodwill ambassador for Maiti Nepal, a foundation to prevent women trafficking.

Following the April 2015 earthquake in Nepal, Prabal launched the Nepal earthquake relief fund to assist with the aid of all relief efforts in Nepal. Prabal Gurung is also joining the concert at the Melrose Ball Room in Astoria. If you buy VIP ticket, you will get a chance to join the meet and Greet Session with Bipul Chettri and Prabal Gurung. This 'meet and greet' is for the social cause, not only for entertainment. Guys, think again. If you meet and greet with Prabal and Bipul, that will help to provide education to underprivileged children in Nepal. Yes, Twenty percentages of the profits will go to Shikshya Foundation Nepal. That will be a lot for the social cause.

Last but not least, Diwas Gurung also will be there. Diwas Gurung and Sonam Tashi Gurung and the Beats will open for Bipul. DJ Rokesh and DJ Bha2 will be spinning till 4 am. You know Diwas, right? Don't know? It's ok. He is a talent musician from Nepal working on Nepalese Folk Pattern Songs. He had released Rato Mato in the year 2009. Diwas Gurung, a pioneer of the Neo Nepalese Folk sound, makes soulful and compelling music drawing from global influences. If you want to know more about him, join the concert.
