Mel B Files For Divorce From Stephen Belafonte After 10 Years Of Marriage

Two become...two again.

Melanie “Mel B” Brown ― aka Scary Spice ― is getting a divorce.

The Spice Girl filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, producer Stephen Belafonte, on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences. They have a 5-year-old daughter together and Brown is seeking joint custody, according to People. The singer has also asked the court to deny any requests for spousal support.

Brown and Belafonte married in 2007 after five months of dating. The “America’s Got Talent” judge was formerly married to Jimmy Gulzar and dated Eddie Murphy and has a child with both men.

Though Brown listed the date of separation as December 28, she’s posted about Belafonte on Instagram as recently as February 6.

“My baby boo … We have been through everything that would normally tear couples apart and we have come out on the other side stronger,” she wrote on February 6. “You loved me before I even [knew] how to really love myself. You are my world, honey and let’s not forget you are a bit of a dickhead too xxxx.”

In other Spice Girls news, last week Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm ruled out the group getting back together any time soon. Although Mel B has hinted at a possible reunion on numerous ocassions, apparently Mel C and Victoria Beckham just aren’t feeling a Backstreet Boy-esque comeback.

“That’s where I’m at right now. In fact, that’s where myself and Victoria are right now,” she told the hosts of Britain’s “The Nightly Show” on Friday. “I kinda feel like it’s not really doing the band justice going out as a four-piece. Whoever is missing - it doesn’t matter! For me, Spice Girls ― it’s like a jigsaw puzzle. It’s not the same. It’s different for other bands.”

Well, that news just spiced saddened up our lives.
