ABC Family Renews 3 Shows, Orders More 'Bunheads'

ABC Family has renewed "Melissa & Joey," "Switched at Birth" and "Baby Daddy." The network also handed out an additional episode order to "Bunheads."

"Two years ago we embarked on a bold strategy to grow the breadth and scope of original programming and create a Wednesday night summer comedy destination,” Michael Riley, president of ABC Family, said in a statement. “The new series have resonated with our viewers, and the combination of drama, comedy and reality brings great depth to our lineup. Our stable of strong series continues to grow, and I’m thrilled with the strength of our schedule."

"Melissa & Joey" Season 3 and "Baby Daddy" Season 2 will premiere during the Spring of 2013. New episodes of "Bunheads" and "Switched at Birth" will debut in the winter. "Melissa & Joey" stars Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, Sutton Foster headlines "Bunheads," Tahj Mowry and Jean-Luc Bilodeau star in "Baby Dady" and "Switched at Birth" stars Katie Leclerc and Vanessa Marano.

“I'm so pleased to add more ‘Baby Daddy’ and 'Bunheads' to our lineup, and to have already put a 'Beverly Hills Nannies' reunion special into production," Kate Juergens, executive vice president of original series programming and development at ABC Family, said in a statement. "So many returning originals spotlight how well our programming resonates with our audience. It also furthers our promise to continue to deliver programming that is engaging, optimistic and relatable.”
