Melissa Gilbert revealed that she once dated Tom Cruise, but the two never consummated their relationship.
The former "Little House on the Prairie" star stopped by Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live!" Wednesday (Jan. 22) to chat with host Andy Cohen. A caller asked if there was any truth to the rumor that Gilbert once dated Cruise.
"That is true," she said. "Actually, when I dated him he was Tom Mapother still. It was when he first moved to Los Angeles and I think I was 16, maybe, or 17?" (This would mean the two were dating in the early '80s, right around the time Cruise landed a role in 1981's "Endless Love.")
Cohen brought up that Cher once dated Cruise, and said she considers the actor one of her top five lovers of all time. Gilbert, however, can't say the same.
"I did not have sex with him," she revealed. "We made out, but, honestly, there was no sex. He was a good kisser. But, you know, he was, like, a struggling, starving actor. I actually bought him his first set of dishes."
Gilbert previously chatted with "Access Hollywood" about young love: "I went out with Tom Cruise a couple of times," she said. "He's a great guy, great sense of humor ... Very generous, very sweet. There was nothing much to it. OK, [we] made out on mom's couch … It didn't suck."
