Melissa Leo has won an Emmy in the Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy category for her role in "Louie."

Leo beat out nominees Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Elaine Stritch, Molly Shannon and Dot-Marie Jones. This is her first Emmy.

"It was a step to take, and Louie was right there by my side," Leo said upon receiving the award, according to THR. "My son, who's 26 years old now, said 'Mom, I want to meet Louis C.K.! I guess my son got me the role.'"
