Melissa Miles Rufty Designs A New Orleans Row House With A Shockingly Bold Color Palette (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: A Traditional Home With A Shocking Color Palette

When Sally and Richard Edrington were looking to give their historical New Orleans row house a dose of personality and a shot of color, they knew exactly who to turn to: Melissa Miles Rufty, interior designer and owner of dᅢᄅcor shop Malachite,. And thanks to Domaine, we get a look at the result.

Rufty, who made it onto Architectural Digest's “Ones to Watch“list because of her surprising use of color, put her own spin on this garden district home. How does she describe her decorating approach? “I say, if you’re going to be a bear, be a grizzly!,” she told Domaine. And once you see these rooms you'll get what she means. Each space is decked in its own unique combination of hues, from blue lacquered library walls to zany cheetah prints to drapery in bright goldenrod.
