Fusion's Alicia Menendez To CNN: We Don't Need A New N-Word

CNN, under fire for allowing on-air talent to bandy about the racially charged word “thug,” has dug in its heels, recently running a segment that questioned whether “thug” was becoming the new N-word.

Fusion network host Alicia Menendez took CNN to task Tuesday on “Come Here and Say That,” saying that while “Anthony Bourdain can’t be on all day,” CNN is “making more news than they are covering.”

“Why is CNN looking for a new N-word?” asked Menendez, a former HuffPost Live host. “We have an N-word. It’s so repulsive you can only refer to it by its first initial.”
