Message To Women With "Curves"

The truth is, it's the media's job to belittle you, to make you feel incomplete without purchasing a product. Don't give in. Together we can create a safe space for all people to feel complete, empowered and beautiful.

The mainstream media has a terrible habit of shaming people for their bodies. Advertisements, marketing, and fitting room mirrors would lead you to believe that the only desirable way to look is tall, thin, and muscular.

That obviously isn't the case for most people. The disparity between body types considered "normal" by the media and how regular people actually are creates a toxic perception in the minds of young people. Many young people paying close attention to the media believe that skinny is healthy, and everything else is unhealthy. According to the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, 95% of people with eating disorders are between the ages of 12 and 25. And guess what age group consumes the most media?

Cara Nicole highlights this disparity in her new video, "message to girls with curves" (A follow up to her past video). She wants to create an attitude of body positivity. Her message is clear, no one can tell you what you can and can't wear, do, or say based on an arbitrary thing like your weight. We can all dress the way we want and be cute as hell.
