Film fanatics count down to the Oscars every year, music fans anticipate the Grammys, but fashion folk mark their calendars for the Met Gala.
The annual ball, which formally kicks off the Metropolitan Museum of Art's yearly Costume Institute exhibit, is arguably the most stylish night of the year and one of the few times celebrities and influencers take real fashion risks.
This year, the theme of the night was "Chinese Whispers: Tales of the East in Art, Film, and Fashion," so we saw a lot of embellished floral motifs and touches of red.
Some standout looks included Sarah Jessica Parker in a custom H&M gown and Philip Treacy headpiece, as well as Solange Knowles in Giles Deacon.
Check out our continually updated slideshow for all the red carpet looks from the night -- and don't forget to tell us which ones are your favorites in the comments section!
