PREVIOUSLY: Mia Farrow’s 27-year-old son Thaddeus died on Wednesday, People confirms.
TMZ was the first to confirm the news and reported that Thaddeus suffered a life-threatening injury in a car. According to People, he later died at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut at 2:30 p.m.
Thaddeus, who was paraplegic due to polio, was adopted by Farrow in 1994 from his home in Calcutta, India.
According to a Vanity Fair article from 2013, Thaddeus was a car mechanic and was studying to become a police officer. He opened up to the magazine about what it was like joining Farrow’s large family after an incredibly difficult childhood in India.
“It was scary to be brought to a world of people whose language I did not understand, with different skin colors,” Thaddeus told Vanity Fair. “The fact that everyone loved me was a new experience, overwhelming at first.”
The Huffington Post has reached out to reps for the actress and the medical examiner’s office and will update this post accordingly.
