Miami Heat Jerseys May Use Nicknames For A Few Games This Season (VIDEO)

Nicknames You Might Soon See On Heat Players' Jerseys

World Peace looks cool on the back of Metta's jersey, but "King James" on the back of LeBron's could be even cooler.

Miami Heat players may have their nicknames stitched to the backs of their jerseys during at least one of their four matchups against the Brooklyn Nets this season, pending NBA approval, ESPN reports.

Heat shooting guard Ray Allen gave his thumbs up to the idea and is reportedly leaning toward "Shuttlesworth," a nod to the character he played in the Spike Lee movie "He Got Game."

"We're still kids, playing a kids' game. Even though we're now men playing a kids' game, we still remember where we come from. Everybody had a nickname, and it's a way to let the fans in a little bit more," Allen told the Associated Press.

Players were asked to submit what names they would want on the jerseys. Dwayne Wade is lucky enough to have several to choose from, with "Three," representing both his jersey number and championship ring count, being his current favorite.

Heat forward Shane Battier -- who is less than thrilled with the nickname idea -- said he wanted to wear "Batman" on his jersey, but was told that Warner Bros. holds the rights to that name, according to The Associated Press.

Instead, he'll have to settle with "Shane-O" or our personal favorite, "Horsetronaut."

Here are a few of the nicknames you just might see at the AAA this season:

LeBron James: King James, and definitely not a serpentine but unprintable nickname popular among Miami fans

Dwayne Wade: Flash, Three, D-Wade, WOW (blech!), MV3

Chris Andersen: Birdman

Ray Allen: Jesus, Shuttlesworth

Norris Cole: Cole Train, Chuck Norris Cole

Shane Battier: Batman, Shane-O, Batti Boi, Horsetronaut (our "Batti-yay!" never did catch on)

Chris Bosh: Probably not fan favorites "Boshy Bear" and "Space Prince," neither of which the former CB4 (he wears number 1 now) is likely to adopt. Maybe they could just iron-on a photo of a raptor?

Udonis Haslem: UD, The Mayor

Mario Chalmers: Rio, or as Dwyane Wade recently typed, Mario "Charmers"

Joel Anthony: The Warden

Michael Beasley: Super Cool Beas. Obviously.
