Michael Douglas Wins Emmy For 'Behind The Candelabra'

Michael Douglas was honored for his portrayal of Liberace in HBO's "Behind The Candelabra" at the 2013 Emmys, winning the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie.

"This is a two hander," Douglas said, in reference to his co-star Matt Damon. "And Matt, you're only as good as your other hand. You're magnificent, and the only reason I'm standing here is because of you. You really deserve half of this. So … you want the bottom or the top?"

Douglas beat out fellow nominees Matt Damon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Al Pacino and Toby Jones for the Emmy.

The win marks Douglas' first-career Emmy.
