Michael Hastings Remembered On HuffPost Live: 'Dear Friend,' 'Legend In The Control Room' (VIDEO)

WATCH: HuffPost Live Remembers Michael Hastings

Journalist Michael Hastings, who died Tuesday in a Los Angeles car crash, was a frequent guest on HuffPost Live, appearing at least a dozen times in the network's first ten months on the air. Host Jacob Soboroff remembered Hastings Wednesday night, delivering a tribute featuring clips of Hastings' appearances -- "always being his cantankerous self," as Soboroff put it -- and Soboroff's own personal memories.

Soboroff described Hastings as "a friend of this broadcast" and said he was "a legend in the control room."

"Michael Hastings wasn't just a brilliant and consequential journalist. He was a dear friend to HuffPost Live, and a human being who inspired in us the conviction that we can still choose how to shape our shared destiny," Soboroff said. "Thank you, Michael, for your many contributions: to this program, to the lives of the people we work with day in and day out, and for what you've given to all of us."
