At the request of his 10-year-old son, Moses, Chris Martin performed two songs from the 1985 classic “Back to the Future” at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday night.

Never one to say no to a guest or two, Martin welcomed “Back to the Future” star Michael J. Fox to put his guitar skills to the test decades after his character, Marty McFly, took the stage at a high school dance. You know, the one that almost erased him from existence.

Midway through Coldplay’s rendition of “Earth Angel,” Fox appeared onstage, guitar in hand and ready to shred alongside Martin’s bandmates.

“Ladies and gentleman, from the best movie of all time, Michael J. Fox,” Martin announced to the crowd.

And then, out of of nowhere, Fox upstaged pretty much everyone involved during a performance of “Johnny B. Goode” with some guitar riffs that have only gotten McFlyer with age.

Watch the performance below:

No stranger to being upstaged by a guest performer ― cough Beyoncé cough ― Martin ended the set by telling the audience, “Well, that’s our dream come true.”

And it seems like Fox had a pretty good time, too.
