100-Year-Old Man Kills Wife With Axe In Apparent Murder-Suicide: Cops

A 100-year-old New Jersey man allegedly killed his wife with an axe Monday in what officials believe was a murder-suicide.

Investigators say Michael Juskin, of Elmood Park, killed 88-year-old Rosalia Juskin in their bed while she slept, then took his own life with a knife in the bathroom, The Bergen Dispatch reports.

The couple’s son told police he entered the home and found the bodies inside, according to CBS New York.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said in a tweet that the couple had a “history of domestic violence issues.”

Neighbor Barbara Szczecina told NorthJersey.com that she frequently saw the couple spending time with one another in their yard.

“She used to be in her garden all the time,” Szczecna said. “They were always together, putzing around outside."

A family member who spoke with NorthJersey.com on the condition of anonymity said Michael Juskin had been struggling with dementia.
