Michael Phelps' Cute Baby Fell Asleep Instead Of Seeing Him Win Gold

Whether you’re the president of the United States getting Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monáe to sing your daughter “Happy Birthday” or one of the greatest Olympians of all time winning yet another gold medal, it’s increasingly clear how impossible it is to make your kids think you’re cool this summer.

Michael Phelps won his 19th gold medal on Sunday, competing with the United States team in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay. At 31 years old, the swimmer extended his total Olympic medal count over the last five summer games to 23.

But this was not a feat that his newborn son, Boomer Phelps, cared too much about.

As the elder Phelps shared on Instagram earlier today, when he looked into the stands with his new gold medal, Boomer had fallen “sound asleep.”

Here’s Phelps’ fiancee, Nicole Johnson, waving while Boomer sleeps during the ceremony.

For good measure, here are a few more pictures of Boomer sleeping, posted to the baby’s very own Instagram account.

Boomer is only three months old and has over 107,000 followers on the social platform. After coming to terms with the fact that that’s probably more followers than you’ll ever get in your life, enjoy the cute baby pics below:

Mommy told me sleep is good so I can grow up to be big and tall like daddy!
