Michael Pollan Talks 'Cooked' On 'Colbert Report'

WATCH: Michael Pollan Admits Secret Shame Food On 'Colbert'

Michael Pollan stopped by "The Colbert Report" last night to talk about his new book (out today!), "Cooked: A Natural History Of Transformation."

"What's the latest locavore flim-flam in this one?," Colbert ask Pollan. Pollan offers a compelling answer. "The most important thing about your diet is not a nutrient, but an activity: cooking."

"Cooked" is separated into different sections including "Earth" and "Fire," prompting Colbert to ask if Pollan was inspired by the band Earth, Wind and Fire. "I base all my eating on the band Meatloaf," Colbert says.

Pollan isn't all about eating local and cooking everything for himself though. He's no purist and admits his love of Cracker Jacks. He's previously mentioned his penchant for Chipotle as well.
