Michele Bachmann: 2012 Decision Will Depend On 'Inner Assurance,' Prayer (VIDEO)

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network published online on Friday that "inner assurance" will ultimately determine whether she makes a run for the White House in the next election cycle.

"I think it will be an inner assurance more than anything of what I am supposed to do," said the conservative congresswoman to CBN's David Brody. She went on to signal that "prayer" will come into the next stage of her decision-making process.

"We're strong people of faith," explained Bachmann. "My husband and I gave our lives to the Lord when we were 16 years of age and so that's been a long time now. ... And I can't say enough how important that's been to us to give us that rock of assurance on which path we should go."

Bachmann made similar remarks in August of 2009 on how she anticipates her religious faith will influence her future in politics. Speaking to WorldNetDaily at the time she said, "When I have sensed that the Lord is calling me to do something, I've said yes to it. But I will not seek a higher office if God is not calling me to do it. That's really my standard... If I am called to serve in that realm I would serve... But if I am not called, I wouldn't do it."

Despite once denying a 2012 presidential run was in the cards, Bachmann is reportedly mulling a run for the White House next year.
