Michele Bachmann has won her bid to continue to represent Minnesota's 6th congressional district, the Associated Press projects.
Bachmann, who unsuccessfully ran for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, faced a tough reelection bid against Democrat Jim Graves.
She first was elected to Congress in 2006 and quickly became a conservative firebrand. She has used strong rhetoric to oppose President Barack Obama, even calling him "anti-American" in 2008.
Bachmann championed the Tea Party, and founded the Tea Party caucus in the House of Representatives. She has been a fixture at party rallies.
One of the biggest fundraisers in the House, she outspent her opponent by a 12-to-1 margin.
In July, the Minnesota congresswoman charged that the Muslim Brotherhood may have infiltrated the federal government, pointing to Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. National Republicans, including Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), dismissed the charge. Bachmann stood by the accusation, even in her final debate.
Bachmann ran for the Republican nomination for president in 2012. She won the Iowa Straw Poll, but dropped out after losing the Iowa caucuses.
