Michelle Obama, Ann Romney Hug, Shake Hands At Presidential Debate In Denver (VIDEO)

FLOTUS, Ann Romney Meet Face-To-Face

We have contact!

Ten minutes before the beginning of the first presidential debate in Denver on Wednesday, First Lady Michelle Obama and Ann Romney, wife of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, greeted each other in front of center-stage.

The two women walked across from their sections to shake hands and exchange a hug. It could have made for an awkward moment considering the nature of their brief encounter -- one person meeting a rival who intends to replace them -- but it wasn't evident in their encounter. They both appeared cordial, even though Obama recently defeated Romney in a presidential cookie contest.

Moderator Jim Lehrer proceeded to jokingly ask the two women to “enforce the rules” on their respective sides of the audience, according to a pool report.
