We love the holiday season: hot chocolate, Christmas songs on the radio, sparkly sweaters... and Bo Obama at the White House!
In what's become one of HuffPost Style's favorite White House traditions, Michelle Obama welcomed families to the White House on Wednesday to unveil the 2012 holiday decorations. Wearing a glittery gold dress that screamed "holiday party!", Mrs. O welcomed a crowd of festively-dressed kids for cookie decorating, ornament making... and Bo-petting.
After Michelle explained alllll of this year's decorations -- including a tribute to the armed forces on the East Landing, a life-size replica of Bo in the East Garden room, a 300-pound gingerbread house in the State Dining Room and a four trees dedicated to the former First Ladies -- Bo came out to play. Although he wasn't wearing a Santa hat or reindeer ears, much to our dismay, he gamely let all the kids crowd around him and pet to their hearts delight.
And if he didn't feel special enough, this year the White House is planning a Bo-themed scavenger hunt: all White House tour-goers during the holiday season will receive a Bo Obama bookmark with a checklist with pictures of 8 "special Bo-ornaments" that can be found in rooms around the White House.
Like we said, this is clearly the most wonderful time of the year. Check out pics of today's holiday event!
