Michelle Obama Says It Took Barack A While To 'Grow Up'

"The president of the United States screwed around in high school and he still got his act together."

First Lady Michelle Obama kept it too real about what her husband was like in high school with the hosts of daytime talk show "The Real" on Tuesday.

The hosts asked FLOTUS who got better grades in school between her and President Barack Obama. She said, naturally, it was her because her husband "fooled around" in school.

"He didn't take school seriously in high school," she said. "He barely got his work done. He was a bum. And it took him a second cause he, you know, he had to grow up a little bit."

She said that though he went to college immediately after high school, it still took him some time before he got serious about his future. It wasn't until Barack's second year in college when he transferred to Columbia University that she said he decided "I gotta make something of myself. I gotta get it together."

She then offered a few inspirational words, "It is never too late. The president of the United States screwed around in high school and he still got his act together. He did OK."
