First lady Michelle Obama says the U.S. election and victory of Donald Trump has given many Americans the feeling of what it’s like not to have hope.

In her final one-on-one interview as first lady, Obama sat down with Oprah Winfrey at the White House.

She spoke of her husband’s legacy of hope, adding, “We’re feeling what no having hope feels like.”

During the presidential campaign, the first lady was a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton and often spoke against Trump’s ideals.
