The White House blog just released a new video of Michelle Obama talking about her goal of eliminating "food deserts" which are usually low-income urban areas that don't have access to fresh fruits, vegetables and healthy foods. These areas are often dominated by fast food restaurants and convenience stores, making it hard for children who live in these areas to get the nutritious food they need, as The First Lady points out. The video is part of Michelle's Let's Move! campaign, to fight childhood obesity and to eliminate food deserts within 7 years.
HuffPost Green loves that The First Lady is giving the issue of food access such a great platform. Way to fight for food justice, Michelle!
