It's safe to assume that most eligible stars spend the morning of the Oscar nominations glued to their TV sets, but Michelle Williams says she had other things on her mind: being a mom.
Williams earned her third Academy Award nod for her turn as Marilyn Monroe in "My Week With Marilyn" on Tuesday, but in an interview with the "Today Show" she said she was so busy preparing her daughter, Matilda, for school that she'd forgotten the big announcement was even scheduled.
"I was with friends and it had slipped my mind, which is something so great about having a kid, is that you get really absorbed," she said. "Especially mornings, because you've got to get out the door, you've got to make breakfast, you've got to get the snow suit on, you've got to get everyone in the car, I was carpooling."
Williams, who said she learned the news from a friend, told the "Today Show" hosts that she sometimes feels as if she's still researching the part of Monroe.
"You know, so much information that comes out about Marilyn, more information every day it seems like ... I was steeping in information. There's no end to it," she said.
