Mick Jagger & 'Moves Like Jagger': Rolling Stone Singer Gets No Royalties For Adam Levine's Hit

Mick Jagger Made A 'Moves Like Jagger' Joke

Mick Jagger stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday night. Jagger told the talk show host, and his fans, the top ten things that he has learned after 50 years in the music business.

Number six on the list?

"You don't earn a cent when someone does a song about having 'Moves Like Jagger.'"

Jagger is referencing Maroon 5's hit song, "Moves Like Jagger," with Christina Aguilera. The track was released as a single from Maroon 5's "Hands All Over" album.

The chorus of the song is all about Jagger and his moves: "Take me by the tongue and I'll know you / Kiss me 'til you're drunk and I'll show you / All the moves like Jagger / I've got the moves like Jagger / I've got the moves like Jagger. I don't need to try to control you / Look into my eyes and I'll own you / With them moves like Jagger / I've got the moves like Jagger / I've got the moves like Jagger."

Other items on Jagger's list for Letterman include, "never take relationship advice from Phil Spector" and "a good way to keep yourself entertained is to sign every tenth autograph 'Doris Goldblatt.'"

Jagger appears on Wednesday in the 12-12-12 benefit concert for Hurricane Sandy.
