Looks like Microsoft's investors are pretty pleased with the news of Ballmer's retirement. On Friday, when Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced he would be retiring in 12 months, Microsoft's stock shot up almost 9 percent. Microsoft's stock has plummeted over 40 percent in the 13 years that Ballmer has been CEO.
