Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with driving under the influence, as first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

According to the Georgia State Patrol incident report obtained by the AJC, Budenholzer was pulled over at about 10:30 p.m. ET for driving without his tail lights on. The officer requested a breathalyzer after smelling alcohol, but Budenholzer reportedly refused. He was arrested after a field sobriety test.

"Bud made us aware of the situation last night. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have further comment at the appropriate time."

After spending 17 seasons as an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs, Budenholzer was hired by the Atlanta Hawks as their next head coach back in May 2013.
