Mike Daisey To Perform Revised Version Of Retracted 'This American Life' Apple Story

Mike Daisey is back with a revised version of his infamous piece about Apple factories, four months after scandal broke out around his original work.

"This American Life" retracted Daisey's hit story about his visit to Foxconn manufacturing facilities in China after it was found to be partially fabricated. Daisey was hotly criticized for his transgressions, as well as his handling of the scandal. The actor and author initially criticized "TAL" and defended his work, but later went on to issue a full apology.

Now, he is set to perform a new version of "The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs" at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in D.C. on July 17. The City Paper's Chris Klimek reports that Daisey tells him that the questionable material has been removed, and that the show will also address the charges against him.

Daisey has invited media critics to attend the show. In an email to the Washington Post's Rachel Manteuffel, he commented on a past event where he spoke about the scandal. He said that organizers had not allowed credentialed journalists to ask questions. "I wouldn't have done that," he wrote.
