Mike Ditka Cuts Campaign Ad For Quinn (VIDEO)

Gov. Pat Quinn is getting a boost from an unlikely source: former Bears coach Mike Ditka.

The NFL coaching legend-- and Chicago marketing luminary-- is a rock-ribbed Republican who introduced Sarah Palin at a McCain campaign rally, flirted with running against Barack Obama for the Senate in 2004, and has described himself as "ultra-ultra-ultra-conservative." But in his taped statement in support of Quinn, he calls the governor crusading for an income tax increase "good people."

"He's a good man. I think this is a great state and great states deserve great leaders," Ditka says in the ad. "I think doing the right thing for the people that put you in office is more important than what you can do for yourself in office. That's just what I believe, and I think he'll do that. And I think he understands this is a great state and to keep it that way, you have to have good people running it. And I think he's good people."
